Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Julie immigrated to Canada in 1975 with her parents and two siblings. Raised in the city of Ottawa, the Nation’s Capital, Julie attended the University of Ottawa and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English. She immediately began working in her field as a mental health worker and broadened her experience by serving as a case manager and rehabilitation educator for persons with acquired brain injury.

Early in her career, Julie noted the desperate need for a comprehensive anger program that would serve people with varying needs and levels of literacy. Through her company, BODA reLEAF consulting, she developed the Anger Solutions program. Today, over 200 counsellors have received their certification, and Anger Solutions is being practiced with continued success across Canada and in the Caribbean.

In 1999, Julie became a Certified Public Speaker with Pryor Resources International and went on the road, facilitating seminars and workshops across the northeastern United States and several Canadian provinces. She has also published several books.
