Karen Gingras joined Agriculture and Rural Development in September 2007 as the Labour Retention Manager. Her mandate is to help Alberta’s food processors develop and implement retention strategies. She provides one-on-one coaching to CEOs, plant managers and human resource managers. She acts as an in-house consultant and at times as a project manager for companies as they move forward with everything from HR system audits, on-boarding programs and training workshops to performance management and cultural competency.

As a speaker, Karen Gingras works to help her audience find and understand tools available to human resources professionals and to shift their focus from retention and recruitment to business production and development. She has also developed an extremely helpful HR tool that she shares with her audience.
