Details and Mini-Biography

Brenda Schoepp has lived and loved the beef cattle industry for over 30 years, currently managing a family cattle grazing operation near Rimbey, Alberta. Her experience within the Alberta agriculture is diverse: from writing to speaking to managing to innovation and more. As a speaker, she is known for her dynamic, well researched and motivating presentations. Brenda’s passion and vision for a better agri-food industry has led her to deliver more than 600 motivating talks and seminars to audiences around the continent and to write over 1,300 articles on topics of importance to the public.

Brenda’s expertise includes publishing BEEFLINK TM, a highly regarded national weekly newsletter on the strategies of beef and beef cattle marketing. Her column “Straight from the Hip” is featured in national and provincial newspapers and magazines. Brenda has co-authored beef cattle marketing and feedlot production manuals in Alberta and Saskatchewan. She is an advisory to individuals and companies on grazing management and has produced several private sector manuals. Brenda has also been involved in fostering the concept of the consolidation of multiple-owner fed and feeder cattle marketing, working as a feedlot manager to employed novel approaches to herd health, developing marketing models used to this day, and defining beef production measures for cattle destined for export to Japan and China.

For her passion and vision Brenda was named by Alberta Venture business magazine as one of the 50 most influential people in Alberta in 2006. Brenda is the founder of Women in Search of Excellence (WISE), mentoring, training and facilitating for the needs of rural Canadian women.

About this Project
