0632 – Documentation for Employee Benefit
Updated: July 31, 2009
An Internal Opportunity Relating to the Workplace
In many small or family-owned businesses, much of the information is stored in the head of a few individuals. Those who’ve started and grown their own companies can undervalue documentation of policies and procedures as they’re accustomed to doing things themselves. This can mean that employees aren’t sure what is expected from them in different situations, and it can mean that a company is unable to function properly when certain individuals are away. Documentation of systems and procedures is not only essential for consistency for employees, but also so the company can function and be healthy.
