0473 – Visual Training
Updated: July 17, 2009
In any company, it’s important for all employees to have access to the information they need to do their jobs accurately and efficiently. In companies with greater diversity, language can be a barrier to sharing recorded information. The Little Potato Company in Edmonton, Alberta has addressed this problem by utilizing visual technology. With a web-based system, employees can go on the web and access information they need. The history and values of the company are available for all to access, and then individual jobs can be narrowed down. For example, an employee who is a grader is able to visit the site and watch videos on The Little Potato Company’s policies, procedures, and training as applicable to that particular job. This way, even if an individual doesn’t speak English, he or she is still able to understand what’s required of them.
